Hey euro. How much is 30 bob a week?

I watched a Britfagian movie last night. The broad was renting a room for $30 bob. WTF? I never heard that term before.

A bob is 1/20th of a pound. In older currency, a pound was made up of 240 pennies and a bob was 12 pennies. Then, in 1970, it was changed to a pound was divided into 100 pennies, similar to a dollar in many other countries. A bob is still 1/20 of a pound, which is now 5 pennies

I just found a pound coin in a pocket. It was interesting to look at, since I can't remember the last time I used cash in England. Definitely pre-pandemic.

I still have pound coins from 30 years ago.. Are they still good? I loved being over there and buy booze at a bar with a few coins.. It was weird..

You can still use the older pound coins and paper banknotes, I think. The notes went polymer years ago. Like Euro says though, not that many people use cash these days. It's all contactless. I mostly use my smartwatch or phone to do daily transactions.

I wouldn't be so sure about those old pound coins. Weren't they replaced because a large majority were forged? Actually I also found one of them a few weeks ago. I'd go to a bank to check if there were any left open here.

Smartwatch all the way here since 2019 or earlier, though not on my travels.

Probably.

Bimmer, No. I've never got into that stuff. I do have a number of other investments, stocks and shares thou.
